What cultural events are taking place in Prague in August?
Wallenstein Garden hosts classical music concerts mostly on every Thursday at about 5 pm and the entrance is free. Are you interested in the history of communism? Would like to know more about the fall of the Berlin Wall? There is a collection of black and white photos in the Imperial Castle Gardens at the Queen Anne Palace.
Fans of jazz music will enjoy Prague Jazz 3 day free-to-air festival starting on the 2nd of August at the Old Town Square with bands playing from 4 until 9 pm. Speaking about music, on the 3rd of August there is the world famous Holi Open Air Colour Festival. It takes place on Strelecky Island where you can enjoy the Festival of Colours and electronic dance music. Burrito, Cuban mojito or Argentinian steak together with Latino dance and music performance is another interesting free admission Latino Festival that takes place around the area of Andel on the 21st of August.
One of the greatest music events held in Prague in August is the Metallica concert on the 18th of August. Tickets are almost sold out, so let us know if you need our help with its booking!
Events for foodies and sports fans
In addition to the mentioned music events, Food-parade is one of the last major food festivals held in Prague this year. On the 31st of August and 1st of September you can enjoy a degustation menu of Prague’s best restaurants in the beautiful gardens of Troja Chateau. Besides the workshops and cooking shows, you can buy fresh pastries, local wines and ciders or homemade pies.
Sport lovers can watch or even attend the annual terrain triathlon race Bigman Festival on the 10th of August. There is a competition for the basketball fans on the 3rd and 4th of August right at the Wenceslas Square.
